Yes, in most cases an Architecture Review requires access to the relevant repositories, technical documentation, infrastructure information, integration descriptions, and any available system diagrams. If full access is not possible, we can review selected materials, but the findings may be limited to the areas we are able to inspect.

A Code Review usually focuses more on the quality, maintainability, structure, and risks inside the codebase. An Architecture Review focuses more on a bigger picture: how components interact, how data flows, how integrations are handled, whether the system can scale, and whether the architecture supports the business roadmap. There may be overlap between the two, but the Architecture Review is more focused on the product's technical foundation and long-term system design.

Usually, no. The review can often be performed in parallel with ongoing development, as long as the team has access to the current repositories, documentation, and system context. However, if the architecture is changing actively, we may recommend defining a clear review snapshot so the findings remain accurate.
